Create an Opulent Look with a Stunning Chandelier

Contemporary design is often characterised by clean lines and simplicity, which are not qualities that you would associate with chandeliers. However, chandeliers do not have to be traditional in style and a touch of opulence doesn’t look out of place in even the most modern interior.

Statement lighting is a fabulous feature for any room and can completely transform any space. If you would like to go bold then nothing makes a bigger statement than a chandelier and you don’t need to be living in a palace to accommodate a dazzling style.

So what are your choices?

Ultimate Bling

Many traditionally styled chandeliers are adorned with crystal and this creates a striking look and a copious amount of sparkle. The multiple facets and lead content of crystal create a dazzling diamond-like display whether the light is turned on or not. Crystal chandeliers are available in a huge range of styles including surprisingly modern designs which offer new takes on a traditional idea.

If you thought that a chandelier always meant a light with several curved arms, then think again. Organic twisted shapes, crystal encrusted globes and waterfall styles offer wonderful alternatives to feature in your home. But don’t rule out a traditional chandelier. These beautiful designs have stood the test of time for a reason and can provide a wonderful injection of pizzazz into your rooms. Why not make your choice of lighting the centrepiece of your spaces rather than something which fades into the background?

Still Fabulous

Crystal ticks all of the right boxes if you are looking for impact but it is far from the most affordable option. The good news is that you can create some wonderfully dramatic effects with fittings featuring glass. The glass will not sparkle as brightly as the crystal but these lights create a fabulous display without breaking the bank. Glass is certainly a great choice if you are looking to inject some colour into proceedings.

Metallic Marvels

A chandelier doesn’t have to feature crystal but can be fashioned from an array of marvellous metals instead. From period style brass lights to sculptural contemporary designs and angular chrome pieces, there is something to suit every home. Whether you prefer modern simplicity, Art Deco lighting or even something medieval in style, there will be a chandelier that brings an exciting new dimension to your home.

The Smallest Room in the House

Even your bathroom could feature an impressive chandelier. If your bathroom is looking bland then changing your light is a quick and simple way to create the impact you are looking for. Just take care to choose a chandelier which is appropriate for the bathroom as in many cases a fitting with a certain IP rating will be required.

Low Ceilings

If low ceilings make chandeliers an impractical choice in most of your rooms, you may still be able to feature a dramatic style. You can certainly hang a chandelier over your dining table to great effect without the danger of anyone walking into it.
